MY BLOG RENE SCHULTZ POPS BY TO SAY HI

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK RENE FOR BEING MY GUESS TO DAY ON MY BLOG I HAVE READ ALL THREE OF YOUR BOOK I LOVED THEM ALL DONE DEAL MADE ME CRY SO FAB

TODAY I JOINED BY THE LOVELY RENE SCHULTZ

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE ?
I love good stories about people and their struggles in today’s world. I’d like to think that my genre is called ‘reality fiction.’ All my stories are different and they all have characters that are very relatable and interesting. I like the readers to feel they are actually sitting in that room with them.

WHICH BOOK YOUR FAVOURITE AND WHY ?

I love all my books. Each is so different and deals with a different set of circumstances. Bishop Street is about four orphans who live together in the Bishop Street Orphanage. You will find what defines friendship and family in the book. I had so many inquires about the characters and what happened to them, I finally sat down and wrote a sequel that will be out in a month. Done Deal is about a broken Healthcare system and how one lady takes them down and leaves a legacy that stuns the pharmaceuticals, insurance companies, and government. Broken Image is about the struggles of five friends and their quest for acceptance through ‘beauty.’ So each one is different and each one has a moral to its story. I love the reality of the stories…

DO YOU BASE YOUR CHARACTER ON PEOPLE YOU KNOW ?

I have to laugh at that. I think if you ask any author they should be honest enough to say, ‘somewhere in their story, there is characters we model after friends, family, or just strangers we meet on a daily basis. I can find a few in my books!

WHERE DO YOU LIKE TO WRITE ?
I have a wonderful writing room upstairs and it looks out over the whole bottom floor of my home. I have lots of windows in my house also, so I enjoy sitting and enjoying the views of the mountains that are literally at my back door. Occasionally, you will find me at my laptop on my patio.

WHAT BOOKS DO YOU LIKE TO READ ?

I was just talking to someone the other day about this. I once was a compulsive reader for twenty-five years, during my marriage. I don’t read very much anymore. As an author, I have my own voice and style and I don’t like confusing it with other authors. I like to read biographies because it is like reading my ‘reality fiction.’ It’s hard for me to do sci-fi, paranormal, fantasy, and books in those genres.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO WRITE BOOKS ?
When I left my marriage ten years ago I was kind of lost. I had this great idea and my son was in the movie industry. I told him the idea and he handed me a pad of paper and a pen. For a year I faithfully wrote every night. Bishop Street (the original name: We are Never Broken) was written on 9 legal pads of paper. Smiling… it was awful to put it on the computer, but I learned a big lesson.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GAVE NOVELIST ?

If you’re in it to make money save your energy. If you love reading a great book, and you have an interesting idea-go for it! The writing part to me is easy… getting your name out there and promoting the book is very difficult and very time consuming. Building a fan base is hard. There are a lot of great authors out there who never get noticed. Don’t give up, just keep plugging along and enjoy it.

WHO INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE ?

The great characters I develop. They are all my inspiration. I don’t use any notes or an outline or anything. I just sit at my desk and watch the screen as my fingers type. I let my characters tell me what direction they want to go. I know it sounds weird, but ask most authors they will tell you the same.

WHAT BOOK DID YOU LOVE AS A KID?
My favorite book as a child and to this day is ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ When I reflect back on my books I think I’ve based every book of mine on a ‘journey.’ Just like Dorothy who went down the yellow brick road, I take my characters down the same road only with a different story base and a different reality. When I was a child I looked at the movie and book differently as I do now. And here’s a secret, unless your my fan, I have a sentence in every one of my books that mentions something about my favorite book! Smiling. Just the other day I sat with my 4 year old granddaughter and we watched it. At the end she had me Glenda the good witch, and see was Dorothy.

Do YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE BOOK AND WHY ?
The same as above. “The Wizard of Oz.” Disney movies and books were a great influence on me too. I love reading to my grandchildren… they are so young and so impressionable.

my blog post THE VINTAGE SUMMER WEDDING BY JENNY OLIVER

THE VINTAGE SUMMER WEDDING BY JENNY OLIVER
A Vera Wang dress, the reception at a sophisticated London venue, and a guest list that reads like a society gossip column are all the ingredients of Anna Whitehall’s perfect wedding that never was…

Spending the summer uncovering hidden treasures in a vintage shop, Anna can still vividly remember both her childhood dreams; the first was that she’d become a Prima Ballerina, and dance on stage resplendent in a jewel-encrusted tutu. The second was that at her wedding she would walk down the aisle wearing a collective-gasp-from-the-congregation dress.

Years ago Anna pirouetted out of her cosy hometown village in a whirl of ambition…but when both of those fairy-tale dreams came crashing down around her ballet shoes, she and fiancée Seb find themselves back in Nettleton, their wedding and careers postponed indefinitely…

Don’t they say that you can never go home again? Sometimes they don’t get it right… This one summer is showing Anna that your dreams have to grow up with you. And sometimes what you think you wanted is just the opposite of what makes you happy…

Anna had it all the flashy lifestyle a dream job she got a extravagant wedding planed but now she got her redundant and she realises she spending beyond her means she now she got to live back in her home town back to the life she once had she not happy about it all
Seb happy to be back in the county his home town
He happy back there they can make this work for them both of them
Hermione i like her she a fun girl she seeing Anna dad now she not happy about it a all
I not sure why the book call the vintage wedding it only one minuscule part of the story yes Anne works in the local vintage shop but that it the book ok the story very good read i did enjoy a fun easy to read book

HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT AND ALIENATE PEOPLE BY OLLIE QUAIR
I did enjoy this book the issues are put a cross very well it makes you think
A great book to read

Is there such a thing as the perfect body?

Vivian Ward thinks she is in total control of her life. Actually…she’s thirty five, an out-of-work actress who puts more effort into partying than getting good parts, is estranged from her family and emotionally unavailable to her boyfriend.

Truth is, the only thing she’s in control of is what’s on her plate…

But then she meets movie star Maximilian Fry, who’s just as screwed up, and journeys into a world of celebrity even more damaging than the one she was already living in. Will image triumph, or will she realise that some of her answers lie within?

A hilarious and thought-provoking novel about self-esteem and the cult of skinny…and what happens when you re funny about food but the joke starts to wear thin

Vivian hit her mid 30 now she not sure what she want out of her life her job as a actress is not doing so well she hit a all time low she not having much luck with relationships
As a kid she was big she was bullied for being fat she was rejected by the school bullies she still not come to term with that they hurt her so much
It still plays on her mind now
She is now watching what she eats and is getting her life back on track but her life going to change she pull in to a whirling mass a plot to help a film star after a very big scandal hits the news
I did like Vivian her character was very believable and realistic it made me smile now she try’s to drinks hot spices so she not hunger we all feel we are not good enough to do thing we are not full of confidence all the time
She just trying to cope with life her weight and drugs and i felt the eating disorders was very well put a cross it so hard to acknowledge that a person got it and so hard for them to say they have it very to tough to see and hear what that person goes through i know they hid food in bags bin they can make out the eaten it so hard and very hard to See a person doing this my heart when out to her
Max is leading a double life to he hided his homosexual i feel you should not have to chose between job or a happy life
Luke a fab boyfriend he charming handsome and very nice i liked him a lot
The book very good it deals with very serious subjects body issues and eating disorders the book deals with now the media see that prefect image and who people try to live up to it
The book very well written the story fab the issues are put across so well it will make you smile but learn to about now we see people

my blog review for the traitor by kimberley chambers

THE TRAITOR BY KIMBERLEY CHAMBERS
Continuing the brilliant story from THE FEUD…

The Mitchells and the O’Haras have hated each other for generations. Hatred exploded into a terrible family murder in The Feud, when Eddie Mitchell’s adored daughter, Frankie, fell in love with Jed O’Hara.

Now Frankie’s father is in prison, awaiting trial and she is pregnant, forced to live with Jed in a trailer on his parents’ land, dominated and bullied by his mother, who is intent on taking over the baby. Worse still, Jed is not the man he pretends to be. Violent, dangerous, heartless, he will drive Frankie to the brink and force her to plan the ultimate revenge.

But will she actually go through with it?

Another brilliant gangland thriller from the author of The Feud life doesn’t get any easier for Frankie Frankie Eddie daughter he the Mitchell main man i loved this book it a very easy to read book i could not but it down
Eddie still in prison doing life
His daughter now living with Jed this is causing trouble for both families Frankie is so unaware what Jed has done to her family but Jed playing with the wrong family he think it funny what he done to the Mitchell
He very much a wheeler dealer Frankie know he sell dodgy car but soon she see what else he been doing he tries to control her he not letting her see her family or do things she wants to do she can not have a life but he free to do what he like and with any one he like too
Frankie plans to escape this life but Jed founds out she trying
to escape and all hell breaks lose
You get to know all the character more which is good Jed can be very unpleasant some part a bit graphic but that what makes the story so good some of the characters are funny which i like in the book the book very gripping it keeps you hooked right up to the end
It got lots of twists and turns
The o”Hara”s show you a insight to romany life
The scene are set up so well you can see them in your mind
This book just as good as the first i could not but it down i truly brilliant book both books are memorable to me i highly recommend you all read
A GEM OF A BOOK

my blog review for one plus one by jojo moyes

THE ONE PLUS ONE BY JOJO MOOYES
The One Plus One is the beautiful, poignant and utterly compelling new novel by the internationally bestselling author Jojo Moyes
One single mum

With two jobs and two children, Jess Thomas does her best day after day. But it’s hard on your own. And sometimes you take risks you shouldn’t. Because you have to

One chaotic family

Jess’s gifted, quirky daughter Tanzie is brilliant with numbers, but without a helping hand she’ll never get the chance to shine. And Nicky, Jess’s teenage stepson, can’t fight the bullies alone

Sometimes Jess feels like they’re sinking .

One handsome stranger

Into their lives comes Ed Nicholls, a man whose life is in chaos, and who is running from a deeply uncertain future. But he has time on his hands. He knows what it’s like to be lonely. And he wants to help

One unexpected love story

The One Plus One is a captivating and unconventional romance from Jojo Moyes about two lost souls meeting in the most unlikely circumstances.

To me the story a bit of a boy meet girl story but the book really about families
Edd a very rich successful businessman he a bit of a computer whizz kid but he under investigated for insider trading
He a nice man but he wears the same clothes every day he buys the same things so he can just put them on it made me laugh
He got the money to buy any thing he wants in life
Jess is a mum with two kids she struggling with two jobs her ex husband no help he pays her nothing at all she working in a pub and runs her own cleaning business she very hard working she just trying to make ends meat
Nicky a teenage that just like all teenagers sullen withdrawn likes gothic make up he get pick on for that he a boy that lost his way a bit
Tanzie brilliant a maths at school she got the change to go to a better school but it going to cost lots of money jess has not got
The four of them go on a road trip to try to get money for her school you see now they get to know each other they face the challenges together it has real life scenarios
The book very well written the story very good but just not for me i not sure if i like it
I sorry but i going to say 3 stars borrow ok read wouldn’t read again

my blog review call the doctor by ronald white-copper

CALL THE DOCTOR BY RONALD WHITE – COPPER
I was asked to do a review for this book the book will be published on the 24 April

Any fan of Call the Midwife will like this book. Call the Doctor is the memoirs of Ronald Cooper-White, a GP who practised from 1910 to 1965 throughout both world wars during which he saw dramatic changes in medicine. He was a surgeon when he worked in the East End of London before he moved to Dartmouth in 1920 (was this 1920 or in the 1920’s?). He had very unexpected challenges for a young doctor, whether it was a grumpy farmer, a dentist to a midwife convinced she was being haunted. Ronald helps his patients the best he could from tv (is this TB?) to attempted suicides to premature births. In the world without antibiotics there was no cure for many diseases so life was unpredictable.

The story begins in his school days, it tells of his student life. OMG, in one bit they need someone to try Nicotine poisoning on, he did not smoke so they gave him the rankest cigar to take to see what would happen if he did get nicotine poisoning and how they could treat it, thank good they do not do this nowadays.

I really enjoyed this book which was full of humour. The book was very well written the characters are so likeable, I’m glad his granddaughter Deborah White-Cooper found Ronald’s memoirs in a old trunk in a attic. A very good book which I enjoyed reading.4 stars i enjoy a good book to pass on
