SUMMER AT THE LITTLE BEACH STREET BAKERY BY JENNY COLGAN

THE BLURB
Summer has arrived in the Cornish town of Mount Polbearne and Polly Waterford couldn’t be happier. Because Polly is in love: she’s in love with the beautiful seaside town she calls home, she’s in love with running the bakery on Beach Street, and she’s in love with her boyfriend, Huckle.

And yet there’s something unsettling about the gentle summer breeze that’s floating through town. Selina, recently widowed, hopes that moving to Mount Polbearne will ease her grief, but Polly has a secret that could destroy her friend’s fragile recovery. Responsibilities that Huckle thought he’d left behind are back and Polly finds it hard to cope with his increasingly long periods of absence.

Polly sifts flour, kneads dough and bakes bread, but nothing can calm the storm she knows is coming: is Polly about to lose everything she loves?

WHAT I SAY

WOW I LOVED THIS BOOK AS I DO ALL JENNY BOOKS

i like the cover it just makes you want to read i was so happy to start this book as i loved the little beach street bakery last year this just follows on we’re the other book left off but you can read as a standalone book

I like now Jenny creates the perfect setting for her books it was so good to see how polly life was going she still lives in the light house with Huckle oh and Neil the puffin i love him he so cute i love his funny ways what a great character to put in the book he just like polly and Huckle child to them his own book out today too

The story carries on with they lives in mount Polbearne you will just want to hear all about the wonderful bread they make in the bakery you could smell them and see them in your head

polly enjoying her life the bakery doing well you could picture this wonderful seaside town in your head i just want to go there and be part of it all

One day polly boss nephew turn up to cause havoc you will hate him or love him i just wanted to shout at him he could be sweet and kind sometimes i did warmed to him what did you think of him ? But then other times i hate what he was doing to Polly she was so not going to be beaten go girl

Selina back in town how she coping now ? she a great character i like her and polly together

The story packed with action it got a few twist to the story and a few shocks too

The characters become your friends and family i just liked them all they just seem so real to me a great brunch of characters all very different but all so nice

The story was sad at times but it could be so funny too Neil just makes you smile i like that the town now seem to love both polly and Neil

The story got a bit of heartbreak and a tragedy that will change people lives i want to tell you more but you all got to read it just brilliant you will just be caught up in this wonderful community .
