Aj book review club's photo.

Fay Merryweather runs her cake shop from her beautiful garden. She whips up airy sponges and scrumptious scones, while her customers enjoy the lovely blossoms and gorgeous blooms. Looking after the cake shop, the garden and her cantankerous mother means Fay is always busy but she accepts her responsibilities because if she doesn’t do all this, who will?
Then Danny Wilde walks into her life and makes Fay question every decision she’s ever made.

When a sudden tragedy strikes, Fay’s entire world is thrown off balance even further and she doesn’t know which way to turn. Can Fay find the strength to make a life-changing decision – even if it means giving up the thing she loves the most? Life, love and family are about to collide in The Cake Shop in the Garden.

I really did enjoy this book

Fay the main character i just loved her the cafe and house at the side of the river sounded so nice i was there with them it was just a lovely warm story so well written i did find it a very interesting read

Fay who narrates the story she works so hard she runs the cake shop but also has to look after her bedridden mum her boyfriend so seemed to take for granted i was not sure of him

lifa the waitress was a so warm , funny she was so lovely i loved her

The plot was a bit predictable but in a good way it a very easy to read book it got a bit of romance a lovely cafe with such wonderful cakes I wanted to eat them all I could see them in my mind

All the characters were so believable and fun you will love them they became my friends

It got a few very good twists and turns some will keep you guessing

Stinky Stan i love him he call in each day for his lunch he was a fabulous character you will love him

I felt Fay was a bit stuck in her ways but can see move on ?

Danny the eye candy of the book he a nice man i wanted Fay to take a chance on him the attraction between them was so clear to us all but may be not to them

The twist at the end i did not see that did you ?

This book so brilliantly wrote it got wonderful characters the humour spot on i just loved it

Carole has written a smashing story with believable characters and a funny if somewhat heartening tale

The canal boat shop and the shop regulars at the cafe are just so good to read about The twists and turns of family relationships all make this book a very interesting read.
